1.2 Automatically Collected Information
Like virtually all websites, certain technical information is automatically collected when you visit IndiCalculator. This is done through third-party services (Google Analytics and Google AdSense) described in detail in Sections 2 and 3 below. The types of data automatically collected may include:
- IP Address: Your Internet Protocol address (anonymised before storage โ see Section 2)

1.3 Information You Voluntarily Provide
IndiCalculator currently does not have any contact forms, account registration, newsletter subscriptions, or comment sections. Therefore, we do not collect any voluntarily submitted personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, or postal address through our website at this time.

โ Back to Table of Contents2. Google Analytics
2.1 What Google Analytics Is
IndiCalculator uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect and analyse information about how visitors use our website.
2.2 What Google Analytics Collects
Google Analytics collects data such as:
- Pages you visit and the sequence in which you visit them
- Time and duration of your visits
- The website or source that referred you to IndiCalculator
- Approximate geographic location (country and state, not precise address)
- Device, operating system, and browser information
- Events such as button clicks and calculator interactions (aggregated, anonymised)
- Session count and engagement metrics
This data is compiled into aggregated reports that show us overall patterns of usage. We see statistics like "500 people visited the EMI Calculator from India this week" โ we do not see or identify individual users.
2.3 IP Anonymisation
We have configured Google Analytics to anonymise IP addresses. This means the last octet of your IP address is masked before it is stored. For example, the IP address 203.0.113.195 would be stored as 203.0.113.0. This prevents Google Analytics from being able to identify your specific device or location beyond a general geographic area.
In Google Analytics 4 (GA4), IP addresses are not logged or stored at all โ they are used only to derive location data and are immediately discarded, providing stronger privacy protection than the previous version (Universal Analytics).
2.4 Google's Data Processing
The information generated by the Analytics cookie about your use of IndiCalculator is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google processes this information on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage.
Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.
2.5 Opting Out of Google Analytics
You have several options to prevent Google Analytics from tracking your browsing activity:
- Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on: Install the free add-on available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout for most major browsers.
- Browser Privacy Settings: Use your browser's built-in privacy or incognito mode, which limits cookies and tracking.
- Cookie Management: Block or delete cookies through your browser settings (see Section 5 for details).
- Privacy-Focused Browsers: Browsers such as Brave, Firefox with Enhanced Tracking Protection, or Safari with Intelligent Tracking Prevention block many analytics scripts by default.
For more information on how Google uses data, please visit Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
โ Back to Table of Contents3. Google AdSense & Advertising Cookies
3.1 About Google AdSense
IndiCalculator uses Google AdSense to display advertisements on our website. AdSense is an advertising service operated by Google LLC that allows website publishers to earn revenue by displaying targeted ads.
Google AdSense uses cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your interests and browsing history. This is known as interest-based advertising or personalised advertising.
3.2 How AdSense Works
When you visit IndiCalculator, Google AdSense:
- Places or reads one or more cookies on your browser
- Analyses your recent browsing history and interests (based on other sites you've visited that use Google services)
- Displays advertisements that are relevant to your inferred interests
- Records whether you view or click on ads (used for billing and ad quality purposes)
IndiCalculator does not pass any personal data to Google AdSense. We do not share your calculator inputs, financial data, or any information you enter on our site with Google's advertising systems.
3.3 Interest-Based Advertising
Google uses the DoubleClick cookie and other advertising identifiers to enable it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to IndiCalculator and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of the use of the DoubleClick cookie for interest-based advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
3.4 Third-Party Advertising Partners
In addition to Google, other third-party advertising networks may serve ads on IndiCalculator through Google AdSense's network. These third-party ad servers or ad networks may use cookies, JavaScript, or web beacons in their respective advertisements and links to measure effectiveness and personalise content. These third parties have their own independent privacy policies, and IndiCalculator has no access to or control over their cookies or technologies.
3.5 GDPR and CCPA Compliance Note
While IndiCalculator is primarily targeted at users in India, we recognise that users from the European Economic Area (EEA) or California (USA) may visit our site. In such cases:
- GDPR (EU Users): Google's Consent Mode and EU User Consent Policy govern how AdSense operates for EEA users. Google will only serve personalised ads where appropriate consent has been obtained.
- CCPA (California Users): California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act. You may opt out of the "sale" of your personal information via Google's Ads Settings or the NAI opt-out tool.
- Indian Users: Your rights under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 are described in Section 10 below.

- Google Ads Settings โ Manage or opt out of personalised Google ads
- Digital Advertising Alliance Opt-Out โ Opt out from multiple networks at once

Please note that opting out of personalised ads does not mean you will see fewer ads โ you will simply see ads that are less relevant to your interests.

โ Back to Table of Contents6. Data Security
6.1 Static Website Architecture
IndiCalculator is a 100% static website hosted on GitHub Pages. This architecture has significant security advantages:
